Located on the fringe of the Sydney CBD, Chippendale has a great community vibe that belies its central location. Close to the University of Technology, Notre Dame and The University of Sydney, it’s unsurprisingly a lively place thanks to its strong student population.

Chippendale is also a noted hub for art galleries and creative spaces. While it’s surrounded by busy roads, the residential streets close to Peace Park are sought after for their tranquility. With a central location, green spaces and galleries, cafes and restaurants, it’s no wonder this tiny suburb is a drawcard for professionals and even families.

What are Chippendale houses like?

The suburb of Chippendale has some beautiful heritage houses, terraces and warehouse conversions, and an abundance of apartments. Additionally, the original Old Kent brewery (first established in 1835) has now been revitalised. It offers new apartments and student housing.

Once considered a down-at-heel neighbourhood by many, this postcode is now a great choice for investors who want a safe, inner-city investment. And no shortage of tenants wanting to live here.
